Sculpture for The Body

Miranda Hope Jewelry x Sara Ait Ben Abdallah

Miranda Hope grew up on top of a rural mountain along the northern coast of California. She discovered her passion for sculpture early on in the ceramics studio of her father.

Her fascination with handmade crafts led her to study at the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California. She was able to design a curriculum combining sculpture alongside jewelry, merging the two crafts to suit her process. The result was a line of large scale wearable sculpture using a variety of material and techniques. Spending time in both departments gave her a larger breadth of tools and techniques and helped her find her specific niche in jewelry making.

Miranda graduated in 2008 and began an apprenticeship with  goldsmith Paula Bailey Brent, and was inspired by her use of raw and minimally processed gemstones.  In 2010 Miranda moved to New York City to launch her first line of jewelry which was centered around oversized raw gemstones, heavy hand forged metalwork, and rich natural palette.

After 5 years of growing her line in New York, Miranda moved to Los Angeles where she continues to make each piece individually by hand. In 2018 she opened her first brick and mortar storefront and studio in East Hollywood where clients can shop and meet for custom designs.
